MY STORY
I'm a 21 year-young photojournalism student and life photographer. I'm the best version of myself when behind a lens; capturing raw, unforced emotion is what makes my heart beat. It's been quite the journey getting to where I am today. From discovering photography to discovering that photography needed to hold a prevailing place in my heart. My Zayde (grandfather in Yiddish) would always take me really cool places, starting at a young age, and everywhere we went he would buy me disposable cameras and a journal, telling me to take a lot of pictures and write in my trip-journal every night. I loved documenting everything I saw and did on my trips, and I just loved the feeling of always having those memories. I liked taking pictures, but I never thought of a career in photography... I wanted to be an astronaut (Space Camp Alumni!). As I got older and went through multiple digital cameras, I hit high school and I decided to take a photography class that my school offered. In that class I had a passionate love affair with a 35mm Konica that my Zayde passed on to me and I cherished the moment I spilled toner on my brand new sneakers. I couldn't get enough of spending time in the photo lab.High school graduation came and I was off to college at San Francisco State University in the fall of 2008. Discovering that I wanted to make photography my career path was a much more difficult process than spilling any amount of toner on new shoes. 18 year-young me had 50 different prospects for which direction I was going to focus my creative capability. It took meandering my way through various departments at San Francisco State in my first two years to finally discover that I wanted to declare my major as Photojournalism. A few months into college, and a few months into the adventures of a college freshman, my parents told me I needed to get a job. Since I was less inclined to get your typical college retail job, I looked for a more career-driven path. I stumbled upon an assistant position at North Point Photography. To make a long story short, I applied for the job and shortly found out that I got the job! Working my way up within North Point, I am currently an associate photographer and have gained much knowledge of the industry and career of a professional photographer.I love everything about photography, so please, don't hesitate in asking me any questions regarding bookings, pricing, equipment, or myself!Bon voyage!
